Leading Innovation is the professional focus for Jens Maier. He implements this focus in roles as Teacher, Consultant and Entrepreneur. As Lecturer at University of St. Gallen and as Fellow at London Business Schools Center for Management Development he teaches Leadership, Innovation and Corporate Development. The focus is on corporate clients covering industries as diverse as Financial Services, Building, Information Technology, Car and Professional Services. As consultant he advises Companies on setting up Corporate Universities and architecting programmes to align Leadership Development with Corporate Development. As entrepreneur he founded Convergence Engineers as a focal point for exploring new opportunities in the area of “healthy aging” for companies from Pharmaceuticals, IT, Food, Fitness, Beauty and Financial Services, geographically linking Europe, US and Asia.
Jens Maier received his doctorate from the University of Warwick and Master Degrees in Business Administration from the University of Bradford and in Industrial Engineering from Hamburg University.
Academic appointments: He worked as Lecturer Marketing & Strategic Management, Warwick Business School, UK, Visiting Scholar, University of Southern California, Los Angeles and Assistant Professor of Marketing, London Business School, London.
Corporate appointments: Daimler Benz Aerospace, Munich: Head of Management Development (1992-1995) and Vice President Governmental Affairs (1995-1997)
Zurich Financial Services, Zurich:; Head of Capability Development (1998-2002)
Advisory: Board of Trustees of efmd (European Foundation for Management Development)(2001-2006). Currently serving on Advisory Boards in the Pharmaceutical, Beauty and Health Care Industry.
