Each month we hold a Round Table discussion or ‘Focus Group’ to collect views on the current Insight. The title of July’s Future Work Forum Insight was ‘‘Jazz thinking’ for team motivation? Music to any team’s ears” and Micheal Devlin led a lively exchange of views on the way musicians collaborate when performing together. He says “Musical interaction brings a magical aspect to a team. A music group is composed of highly trained, well prepared and talented professionals. Their roles and skill sets are not interchangeable. But they can only succeed in creating one incredible outcome if they work tightly together, fully support each other – and above all, become excellent listeners.” The rest of his conclusions can be found as part of his Insight .
In August we focus on a new Insight, this time from Michael Jenkins. He asks the question “Can Motivational Interviewing be used in Leadership Development” particularly in the context of toxic behaviour. His Focus Group is being held on August 4th and, as with the July one, it will be limited to a small group of people to ensure interactio between participants. These discussions are a way for the FWF to share ideas outside of the ‘think tank’ and get inputs from a wider audience.
