As organisations evolve and potentially become more networked, the need for layers of middle management comes into question. The Future Work Forum has identified key changes that are happening to these positions and how these will impact management roles in the future. There will still need to be a leadership role between the senior executives setting direction and the front-line workers, but it is very different from the middle manager of the past.
