The Future Work Forum (FWF) is, unsurprisingly, a forum where people gather to exchange ideas on the evolution of work and the impact this has on anything from organisations and their leaders to individuals and their lives.

Its purpose is to increase understanding of the changing nature of work and use this to influence others and create a better working experience for all. It achieves this by sharing the wisdom of the Partners amongst themselves and communicating the results to a wider audience.

It is a community of interest consisting of up to 30 Partners who add value to the shared understanding through online discussions, in-person meetings, presentations, articles papers and social media.

The Forum has no paid employees and runs mostly on the voluntary effort of partners. It does, however, have some operating expenses and these are funded through an annual membership fee currently standing at £350, €430, or $450. It does not have sponsorship income or charge fees for any services, thus maintaining its independence.

In exchange for the fee, a Partner is able to participate in monthly Zoom discussions and quarterly face-to-face meetings plus join in the public LinkedIn presence and a private WhatsApp group. The meetings online and in-person also provide a rare opportunity for Partners to test out new thinking and to support the development of fresh ideas and perspectives.  Opportunities are also available to speak at conferences, write articles for publication, create videos and run online meetings.

The primary purpose of the group is to enhance the learning and understanding of Partners. There is also a desire to influence decision-makers by sharing the outputs of the Forum deliberations with a wider audience.

Some Partners may personally benefit by generating consulting income from their association with the Forum, but the FWF does not sell consultancy itself.  Leads that come via the website are passed on to individual Partners.

There is no fixed ’profile’ for a FWF Partner.  The more diverse the viewpoints in the discussions, the greater the chance of generating genuine wisdom. Whilst partners benefit from hearing the views of other informed members of the group, they are also expected to contribute their own ideas. Being A FWF Partner is an active commitment to the team, not just a passive bystander.

We welcome applications for membership from anyone who is willing to share their knowledge of the future of work, whether through personal experience, academic study, or as a practising professional or executive.

Most Partners have been introduced to the Forum by existing contacts, but unsolicited applications are welcome from anyone who has ideas to contribute. Initial contact can be made through any Partner or via the website.
