Each year the Management Centre Türkiye run an international online HR Conference in partnership with the Future Work Forum. This year the theme was based on the story of Pandora’s Box and we applied this to the way work is evolving.
It is easy to be negative when opening the box and looking into the future of work. There is so much disruptive change influencing the world of work from social attitudes to new technologies. We looked into the ‘bottom of the box’ and found ‘hope’ still there. In line with this optimistic theme, we had nine presentations from Partners plus two panel sessions.
Video recordings of the talks and discussions will be available on the FWF website when they are produced.
Peter Thomson chaired the session and introduced the theme of “Pandora’s Box”, arguing that despite the future of work being under threat from AI and other disruptive factors, there is still hope for a positive future.
Samreen McGregor explained how the body remembers possibility, even in the face of chaos and Graham Wilson looked at the benefits of slowing down for leaders at the right moment.
Jennifer Vessels showed how to gain real value from AI and Ben Emmens urged leaders to choose optimism. Sabine Hoffmeister talked about cultivating courageous leadership in times of change and Michael Jenkins explained how motivational interviewing can support behavioural change in leaders.
Matthias Mölleney looked at a new role for middle management and to finish Diana Wu David gave a positive message about a future where AI will be designed to contain hope and support humanity as its boss.
